Bericht Hey folks, I am Marko and I just bought a Porsche
Hey folks, nice to meet you all, I am Marko, I am an expat, came here to work at a software company in Amsterdam, but I live in Delft because it's cheaper. I don't speak Dutch (yet) so I'll make this introduction in English, hopefully that's fine :)

A few days ago I bought a Porsche, a Cayenne Turbo. I bought it from Japan and I will be importing it to the Netherlands soon. Cars from Japan are usually in a really good condition, dealership maintained and low mileage, so I opted to get one from there.

The car is currently at the port of Yokohama, waiting to be sent to Zeebrugge where I will then import it to the Netherlands. Car has 109,000KM, first owner.

Here are some pictures:

I have my first ever question to this community, any Porsche specialist you can recommend near Delft, for general maintenance?

Welcome, and what a great car to look forward to!!

Is it LHD or RHD? I understand it is somewhat of a status symbol to drive a LHD car in Japan, but most cars are RHD because they drive on the left.

A good Porsche Specialist near Delft is Haaglanden Motorsport in Nootdorp.

Yes, weirdly they drive LHD for European brands, but drive RHD for everything else. They are also really weird on maintenance, a friend of mine who bought a Porsche received it with the original plastic wrapping on some of the handles at the back, the owner didn't wanted to take them off since no one was riding in the back anyways :D

Haha, reminds of the 70's/80's where (old) people used to cover their couches in plastic to prevent stains and wear...
Rather have it looking like new, than enjoying it in comfort... There are some Porsche-owners here who treat their cars te same way though. Instead of driving and using it, they cherish and protect it like a baby. I understand that when it's a limited edition investment object, but most of them are just, well, cars that should be driven instead of stored. Same goes for older, but low mileage cars. They don't drive them in fear of depreciation. Or won't buy high mileage cars in fear of high maintenance costs, while low mileage cars are much more prone to defects than well maintained high mileage ones... Anyways...
People are strange sometimes.

When is you car planned to arrive here?

I'd visit both Motorsport Haaglanden and van der Gugten and see who you get along with better.

The Japanese can indeed go a bit far with regard to their care for cars. Some time ago I listened to an interview of the guy who was quality manager for the South African Mercedes plant, and the only way to get his production managers to realize how Japanese treat their cars and what this means for the quality the plant had to produce was by taking them to Japan and have a look for themselves.
